Jonathan Konietz advises in all areas of intellectual property law with a strong focus on representing clients in patent and utility model disputes. In addition, he advises on employee invention law and on the negotiation and drafting of license and research and development agreements.

Jonathan Konietz’s technical specialization includes in particular the fields of telecommunications, IT, electrical and medical engineering, and biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. He has broad experience in defending against and enforcing of standard essential patents with special attention to the FRAND-criteria in a national and international context.

Jonathan Konietz was admitted to the bar in 2016. After completing his law studies at the University of Düsseldorf, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law and Intellectual Property Law of the University of Düsseldorf. He was a visiting scholar at Durham Law School (UK) and a guest lecturer at the Université de Cergy-Pontoise (FR).

As a lawyer he was part of the Patent Litigation Group of a leading IP boutique law firm until mid-2019. He then joined the patent team of an international law firm where he worked in Munich and London. Since November 2020 he has been a member of the renowned patent law practice of AMPERSAND.
